Major Areas of Responsibility:  As a Quality manager, you will lead the safety, productivity and quality functions of your team.  You will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment where you facilitate open and honest communication, respectfully challenge mediocrity, and drive results tied to clear expectations of your team.  In addition, you will be expected to create a culture that meets Vector’s core values, and consistently address behaviors of team members that are not in alignment. 

Additional Responsibilities:  

  • Create SPC charting tied to current data and communicate the results to the Vector Management team 
  • Use statistical process to help qualify or disqualify new equipment (CPK) 
  • Creates, updates and maintains the Vector quality program. 
  • Completes all internal and external quality audit requirements on time. 
  • Investigates all quality complaints (internal and external), initiating Corrective Actions tied to quantity and/or dollar value. 
  • Monitors data for defect trends and initiates Corrective Actions that may include internal training needs (VWI), equipment upgrades or preventive maintenance needs, and vendor notifications/rejects.  
  • Monitors product quality; reporting quality deficiencies and communicating with sales, production, maintenance, and customer service.  
  • Creates, implements and maintains regular quality records, including COPQ. 
  • Creates, implements and maintains Quality Management System that ensures customer expectations are met. 
  • Creates, implements and maintains quality process controls which predispose product quality in lieu of “inspecting out”. 
  • Drives Vector towards a data based decision-making system, using common tools (SPC, 5 Why, Six Sigma, and/or Fishbone diagram). 
  • Regularly evaluates performance data and trends with suggestions toward improvements. 
  • Utilizes MRB form to identify and isolate any con-conforming raw material or finished goods material. 
  • Develops projects, training and methods to improve operational quality of products. 

Managerial Accountabilities:  

  • Provide safety guidance to quality team members.  When needed, enforce violations to our safety policy  
  • Provide regular feedback to the quality department team members on all shifts, including positive reinforcement for meeting or exceeding results, and coaching, guidance and disciplinary action, if needed, when expectations are not being met.    
  • Provides supervision/coaching to improve operational quality of product. 
  • Reports to Leadership Team and Associates on the performance of the Quality Management System monthly 
  • Manage daily k-pay activities for lead and team member vacation time and time-off requests, making sure to keep appropriate staffing to meet current customer demand. 
  • Manage team to meet weekly near miss/safety/maintenance request form expectations.  
  • Manage quality team to perform quality product and process audits effectively and on time. 
  • Regular contact with the Operations Manager to review quality issues tied to production. 
  • Regular contact with CSR’s, Sales and Service regarding product quality 
  • Frequent contact with accounting to support customer credits and vendor credits 
  • Perform all annual team member Performance Appraisals and provide positive feedback and coaching opportunities as determined by the appraisal. 
  • Perform all team member 30 and 90 day reviews on time. 
  • Identify and create training opportunities for potential future leaders in our organization.

  • Fully accountable for quality results, meeting or exceeding annual quality metrics.   
  • Identify action steps and timelines needed to reach objectives.  
  • Measure and report quality results to staff.

The Business Systems Analyst is an essential part of our Technology team, and is responsible for the management, configuration, maintenance, and support of primary business systems to maximize performance and utilization.   • Establish and enforce a set of best practices and guiding principles for the proper functions of core business systems.
